Welcome to the Fairfield County String Teachers Website. The Association was founded by renowned music educators Dorothy Straub and Robert Genualdi, to serve the string teachers and their students inn Fairfield County CT. It was adopted by string teachers throughout the region and offers an annual honors festival, where string students come together to perform in an orchestra and get to work with conductors and soloists from around the region. FCSTA is a Non-Profit 501c3

 

Founders Dorothy Straub and Robert Genualdi asked Carrie Mascaro, Head of Orchestras at Staples High School Westport to lead the organization after their retirement. Carrie led the organization for several years until stepping down as President in 2019. Our 2019 admin team includes Dr. Andrew Smith (Suzuki Music Schools) Malcolm Karlen (Wilton High School), Glen Ulman (Norwalk Public Schools)
